We charge for the time our probate lawyers spend dealing with the matter at a rate from £275.00 plus VAT at 20% per hour, but with no additional fee based on the value of the estate. Disbursements
- £300 for the probate fee
- £16 for each copy of the Grant
- £20 for title check per check
Additional fees
- £75 + VAT at 20% for bankruptcy and ID checks per beneficiary
- £45 + VAT at 20% for money transfer per each payment.
We will ask you to obtain valuations for the assets of the estate. If professional valuations are needed, the professionals may make a charge for providing you with a probate valuation.
Disbursements are payable before we incur the cost. All prices are plus VAT at 20%.
Timescale: Overall, Probate can take anything from 6 to 18 months, depending on the complexity. Your lawyer will advise you on the most likely timescale when you enquire.
What is excluded in a Fixed Fee Probate service?
- Calculating and paying IHT (Unless Inheritance Tax Estate Fixed Fee) or any administration period taxes
- Foreign assets or domiciled persons
