The Executive Principal of the Thrive Partnership Academy Trust, responsible for running Philip Morant School in Colchester as well as the Colne Community School in Brightlingsea has released her first statement since being suspended in March in relation to undisclosed allegations.

Catherine Hutley’s brief statement read “I can confirm that I will be leaving the Thrive Partnership Academy Trust on August 31st”.

Miss Hutley’s statement would possibly indicate that her and the Trust have agreed for her to step down, possibly been subject to a legally binding settlement agreement.

Miss Hutley has been suspended by the Trust since March 2018 during which time she would have received full pay whilst investigations were continuing. It would now appear that the investigation has now been halted against Miss Hutley.

The Trust’s Chief Executive, Nardeep Sharma OBE, remains suspended.

Both schools will now be run by the Sigma Academy Trust from the beginning of the new academic year in September. The Sigma Academy Trust currently runs Stanway School, St Helena School and The Thomas Lord Audley School, all three of which are based in Colchester.
