Attwells Solicitors today held a Christmas Jumper Day event. Everyone from Partners to legal assistants donning their favourite Christmas jumper to raise money for Headway Essex.

Colchester based law firm, Attwells Solicitors and their 17 staff members including Partner Will Oakes raised ÂŁ200 for Headway Essex who improve the lives of those recovering or living with a brain injury in Essex.

Attwells who specialise in conveyancing, have been supportive of Headway Essex since moving to Colchester in March of this year. They were the headline sponsors for the Colour 5k in March which helped the charity to raise close to ÂŁ10,000.

The work Headway Essex undertakes is a vital lifeline for those suffering with a brain injury. Depending on which part of the brain has been injured symptoms and challenges vary greatly. However, it is common for those suffering to experience difficulties with planning, moving and social interactions including losing aspects of their personality. Having access to the free support Headway Essex provides helps those affected cope, understand and recover.

Tracy Wellsted, the Fundraising Manager at Headway Essex says “We are very thankful to Attwells for their continued support, their involvement in our events helps us raise vital funds, which will go directly towards providing rehabilitation and support for brain injury survivors and their families and carers across Essex”.

Attwells is committed to supporting a variety of local charities, with the team also donating 100 gifts to the Colchester Food Bank, who provide food parcels to families in need across Colchester. Their Christmas donation will mean those families will at least receive a festive goodie or two.

Will Oakes comments “We are delighted to continue to support Headway and the essential work that they do. Headway makes a very significant life enhancing contribution to many local people and we look forward to offering further support for their work throughout 2020”.

Attwells will also be launching a new initiative across all offices on 23rd December called Jargon Free Law. This will mark the beginning of Attwells commitment to breaking down the legal barriers and providing clear and jargon free advice for the local community.
